INTRODUCTION Sri Bhagavan Ramana Mahaeshi is univerally regarded as a great World Teacher & as the Supreme Guru. Tradition proclaims that every thousand or more years,a supreme guru, of the highest calibre, appears on this planet to set a new agenda for the coming millennium. This is Divine Grace, to assist all those perplexed men & woman trapped in samsara –the endless cycle of suffering births & rebirths -- & wishing to wake up & free themselves from this bondage. The revered Adi Shankara was the last to fulfil this histoic mission in the years between the 7th & 8th centuries AD. He clarifed the eternal primciples residong in the highest teaching of Advanta which, when applied, leads to Self-realisation. In his commentaries on Sage Vyasa’s Barhma Sutras, he lucidly codified the ancient Non-dual Vedic & Upanisadic knowledge into a systematic form, easy for assimilation by the man & woman of his day, & in the days to come. New Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi has appeared, upholding the teaching of Shankara, but bringing certain important innovations for this current millennium & generations to SRI RAMANA’S LOVE FOR ANIMALS CHILDREN “He who dedicates his mind to thee, & seeing thee, always bebolds the universe as Thy figure, he who at all times glorifies thee & loves thee as none other them the Self, he is the master without rival, being One with thee. And lost in thy Blis, O Arunachala!” Earlier, I had mantioned that Sri Ramana could easily communicate with the bird & beasts of the animal kingdom. Cows, squirrels, monkeys, cats & birds inhabiting the ashram were treated by him the same loving care & equality as human being. He would never allow any animal to be treated harshly. He is recorded as saying, “We do not know sould may be tenanting these bodies & for finishing what portion of thir unfinished karma, they seek our company.” Famous among these animals was the cow named Lakshmi. She was said to be an incarnation of the turn of the ‘Old Lady of the Gweens’ who fed Ramana at the turn of the century, who would manticulously walk around gathering green vegetables to cook for him & other devotees. The story of Lakshmi is remarkable & uniquely miraculous. She was housed in the goshala or cowskad, where she was the accepted leader of the immaculate herd of asharm cow
